Mango Turmeric Smoothie

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup (about 1) mango (frozen or fresh)
1 banana
1.5 cups almond milk
1 tsp coconut oil
1 tsp chia seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp chilli (optional) 


DIRECTIONS:
1. Wash fresh mango.

2. Add all the ingredients into the blender.

3. Blend on high for 45 – 60 seconds, until well smooth.

SUBSTITUTIONS:
Mango –Peach, Nectarine, Apricot
Banana – Peach, Nectarine, Apricot
Almond milk – Coconut milk, Hemp seed milk, Coconut water

 

Golden Milk Recipe

An anti-inflammatory drink

Step 1: Turmeric Ginger Paste

Ingredients:

- 1/4 cup turmeric powder

- 1/4 cup ginger powder

- 1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper

- 1 cup filtered water

Preparation:

Cook all ingredients together in a saucepan on medium heat. Stir (or wisk) well until the mixture thickens. You will not need much time to prepare this paste, so stay close to the stove. After it is done, let the paste cool for a while and keep it in a small glass jar in the refrigerator.

Step 2: Golden Milk

Ingredients:

- 1 cup coconut milk (or milk of your choice)

- 1 tsp coconut oil

- 1/4 tsp (or more) Turmeric Ginger Paste (recipe above)

- Honey to taste

Preparation:

Combine all of the ingredients together, except the honey, in a small saucepan. Cook on a medium heat and stir constantly. Take the milk off the heat before it boils and add honey to taste.

Use organic ingredients when possible. Enjoy "Golden Milk" before bed and you'll sleep like a baby!
